Low carbon concrete for Scotts College

Updated: Mar 21, 2022

Scotts College became the first school in New Zealand to use Neocrete low carbon concrete in September 2021.

We worked with LT McGuinness, pouring 106 cubic metres of low carbon concrete with Neocrete D5 Green into ground beams and slab.

While we poured only a relatively small amount of concrete, using Neocrete D5 Green reduced the embodied carbon by 1600kg - this is the equivalent in emissions to over 4,000 miles driven in a car, or how much carbon two acres of forest absorb in one year.

See below for specifications and reduction in embodied carbon.
