Our Mission:
Reduce global emissions by 1%
Neocrete's mission is to re-engineer concrete to make it regenerative, resilient and carbon neutral.

Concrete is the most used product in the world, after water. Cement - the glue that holds concrete together - is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse emissions.

Company
Neocrete was founded in New Zealand in 2018 by Zarina Bazoeva and Matt Kennedy-Good, focused on making carbon neutral, resilient concrete - with no cement.
Working first from a converted shipping container in 2018, Neocrete's R&D team focused on re-thinking concrete, engineering for sustainability and efficiency, so as to enable a higher performing, low carbon concrete at a lower cost than conventional concrete.

Neocrete now has laboratories and offices in Parnell, Auckland and a manufacturing plant in South Auckland. We've just opened an office in London, and are supplying to customers in New Zealand and South East Asia, and in testing programmes with customers in the UK and EU.

World leading innovation
The problem with cement is the manufacturing process, when limestone is heated to extreme temperatures to "activate" it, releasing huge amounts of carbon dioxide.

Neocrete replaces this "activation" process with our additive, which is added at just 3% of cementitious materials.

Neocrete's additive supercharges the reactivity of abundant, low cost, low carbon materials, such as fly ash, volcanic ash and steel slag. This reduces the amount of cement required in concrete, reducing carbon and cost.

Neocrete is venture backed by some of New Zealand and the world's leading impact investors, including Wavemaker Partners (Singapore), New Zealand GIF, Icehouse Ventures and LT McGuinness.

In 2025 Neocrete was chosen from over 100 businesses for CRH Ventures' Accelerator. In 2023 Neocrete was chosen by the Global Cement and Concrete Association as one of the most promising technologies to decarbonise concrete, in the Innovandi Challenge.
