Neocrete manufactures four styles of concrete countertops: Hand Troweled - A lot of variation and movement, more earthy. Smooth Cast - Very dense, contemporary, clean lines with solid color. Terrazzo - Aggregates including glass, granite, marble, stone and shell are added to the mix, ground until exposed, then polished. Dry Pack - Cast with pocks, holes and divots (similar to travertine), and can be filled or left natural. Most countertops are cast at 1 ½” however any thickness is possible. Standard edge design is eased (slightly rounded). We use integral color (throughout the mix) with gray or white portland. Virtually any color you desire can be achieved. Please take a moment to view our standard concrete colors. We can also inlay tile, stone, glass, metal, shell or other artifacts to further customize your project. Our mix design is high performance and includes fiber and structural reinforcements. Hairline cracking can occur for several reasons, but is non-structural and adds to the character of concrete. Neocrete prefers to use a combination of penetrating sealers and wax. We feel this gives the most natural appearance, however some applications demand a different approach. Concrete is a porous material and will require maintenance. Concrete should be cleaned using mild soap, and acidic spills should be removed quickly. Wax or polish should be reapplied (for interior counters) every 3-6 months, depending on usage. Do not cut on concrete as it will damage your knives! If you are interested in receiving a quote an appointment is recommended. Once Neocrete has determined your style and color, a sample will be made for your approval. After we have measured your job and made templates, expect 4-8 weeks before installation. Visit our Countertop picture gallery to see examples of our work.
